Introduction: Harry Muck about Quidditch Mini Brooms

I lovemaking the Harry Potter around international ad I definite to make roughly Potter tree ornaments for christmas. I decided to name some Quidditch broomsticks to start off.

Step 1: Gathering Your Materials.

  1. You rump make your ain sweep sticks or buy them physique any cunning store. I made 2 only because of time constraints, I purchased a pack from Michael's. You can happen the exact product Here: Michael's Mini Broomsticks
  2. To make your ain:
    • Collect thin branches / twigs from your cubic yard.
    • Contract the branches to about half of your finger length and trim them to pretend them skinny (Please undergo care when doing this ill-use).
    • Owed wood dowels or chopsticks to create the handle of the broom
    • Cut the dowel to the length of your digit; if required trim the thickness down.
    • Use light colored cord to marry the bristles to one end of the dowel pin. Make secure the bristles are securely attached to the stick.
  3. Acrylic Paints: Craft Streetwise – Brick Red; Workmanship Canny – King's Gold; Malus pumila Barrel – Black; Craft Smart – Dark Grey; Craft Impudent – Espresso; FolkArt – Terracotta

  4. Washi Tape – Silvern, Gilded

  5. Mod Podge – Matte

Step 2: Designing Your Broom: Gloriole 2000

I decided to take a leak a Nimbus 2000 opening. For this, you will need the brick red, king's golden paints and the gold washi tape.

  1. Rouge the smooth heather with the brick cerise and let dry for 30 mins. Add 1 more coat of paint and let dry.
  2. Use the aft end of a fine tipped brushing to gently pen out Nimbus 2000 along the handle of the broom. (Does not receive to be mathematical letters, just a wind of the word is sufficiency).
  3. Let everything dry for 30 mins.
  4. Scratch out a small segment of the gold washi taping and cut into small, spindle-shanked strips. Wrap the tape 2-3 times about the eye of the broom (where the stick meets the bristles).
  5. I old matte mod podge over the tape to further secure it (this step is optional).

Step 3: Design Your Broom: Firebolt

The Firebolt involves a small-scale more paint work. You will require the Espresso, Night Grey, Terracotta paints and the silver washi tape.

  1. First, paint the bristles with the Espresso paint.
  2. After drying, key the portion of the sweep attached to the bristles the Sour Grey until the middle of the broom.
  3. After drying, paint the end of the broom with Terracotta until information technology blends with the grey.
  4. Cut out a elflike segment of the metal washi tape and cut into miniature, thin strips. Wrap the tape 2-3 times around the heart of the broom (where the stick meets the bristles).
  5. I used flatness mod podge over the tape to further secure it (this step is optional).

Pace 4: Designing Your Ling: BlueBottle

The blue bottleful was the easiest. Just paint the sweep black and tally some silver paint (optional) relevant where the bristles meet the heather.

The remaining 2 brooms, I painted with metallic chromatic and aureate paints with some negroid and blue cut.

I lastly attached any cord to the middle of the brooms to give ear as ornaments on my christmas tree :)
